Recently when in a changing rooms, I overheard a woman talking to what I’m going to assume was her daughter(who I’m also going to assume was like 6/7) she had been trying on things and the reaction from her mother had me horrified.
“See, now that covers your belly”
“No, you’re too big to wear that”
I can’t get my head around it....this is
E X A C T L Y what’s wrong, no wonder people have a negative opinion of their body.
We need to choose our words carefully, kids are under enough pressure from external influences let alone receiving comments like that from the people who are supposed to nurture and love you no matter what.
Parents have a lot to answer for, you are the person your child looks to for inspiration and guidance, so just make sure that you’re setting a good example..

And I know the job of a parent is far from easy and everyone’s just trying to do the best they can and it’s fine for me to say because I don’t have kids but I’d like to think one day if it ever happens I would T R Y and implement these things 💛
Side note: it’s totally fine to want to change your body, I changed mine, but not to look a certain way but to FEEL a type of wayyyy...that’s the difference.
